Few days ago I read an article at Inhabitat about one of the fellow teams of Solar Decathlon 2012: the Egyiptian team from the American University of Cairo lacks the funds to realize their cutting-edge project (see pictures), SLIDES.
We deeply sympathize with this team ? knowing that we are also the first team ever applied for Solar Decathlon from our region, Central- East Europe (along with the Romanian team?s project PRISPA) ? we also face the difficulties of starting a new program, integrating to the university system. A picturesque example could be how our team members renovated/built Odooproject?s office in a shabby, abandoned classroom at the central building.
And if we talk money, we must mention how hard is to find sponsors at the very first time ? which means we also have to spread the word about the opportunity and the challange of SD through conferences to the Hungarian professionals ? to whom to concept of the competition was unknown.
We hope SLIDES can make it through ? Odooproject grants its complete moral support.
