Odoo team on look out for furniture
We?ve noticed the works of a talented Hungarian designer, Géza Csire. Among his simple, creative and practical pieces, the so-called ?paq chair? drew our intrest the most. This a special pouffe which can be converted to a bed in two steps and vica versa. It consists of a simple mattrasse, a changeable textil cover with a zipper and a paperboard roll functioning as a bed-drawer and a brace in the bottom of the pouffe, or as a bedside table next to the bed. At the first sight the chair may seem tiny, but after some minutes it adopts your form and you no longer want to get up from it.
Géza hit upon the main idea of the paqchair in 2009, when he had to move into a small apartment and had no money to furnish it. He wanted something that practically fits in his room, like a pouffe which can also be used as a bed. So he started to think how to convert his extant sponge to a pouffe. He was just sitting on a tram when he folded out the solution from a slip of paper: if the sponge is drawn into a roll, and the upper half bent down, it could be used as seat with a backrest. Since then the paq chair have been produced in a small manufacture at Vác (town near Budapest).
His chair really took our interest as it fits in our house-concept, it can be put away, can be replaced, can be carried out onto the terrace and can be brought back. Since the begining of the project our goal has been to fill the house with Hungarian products, the works of talented, young designers, therefore we would really hope to sit in the chairs of Géza Csire even in Madrid.
There are many similar pieces of furniture we will need to fill the Odoo-house with life. In the coming months and we look forward to find simple and great ideas of young Hungarian designers, who are prepared to cooperate with Odoo team, and would like to see their work at the exhibition in Madrid next September.
