On February 23th we performed the first official, experimental test of the joints designed to the Odoo-house. During the experiment we studied 2 types of wooden joints. The first piece was tested for shear load, stressed parallel to the boards? plain; in the second case we studied how the built-in steel ring deformed  meanwhile the joint was stretched perpendicul to the wood?s fiber direction. We gladly report that the designed capacity of the joints are much better than the required value, and the deformations remained within set-limits. The experiment took place in the material-testing laboratory of the Department of Construction Materials and Engineering Geology (BME, Faculty of Civil Engineering). University docent Dr. Salem Georges Nehme  and technician Gábor Kovács helped our work during the testing. The test speciments were made by Imre Miskolczy, decathlete. -NB-
