Student of Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), 6th year degree, Architect
During my studies so far, my interest directed towards the structure of buildings. The tasks of the constructive design is one of the most exciting, elemental and dominant part of the responsible architectural design, however it is an essential criteria of the well-functioning and liveable buildings.
Today the architectural approach and profession is undergoing significant changes, which requires openness and new kind of thinking. In recent years, I tried to learn more sustainable and environmentally architectural solutions. I think, this competition and this project is a great opportunity for me to participate in a great team, use and expand my knowledge. One of the university teacher and project advisor Rita Pataky drew my attention to the project and she proposed to apply.
2. What are you doing in the project right now?
In order to succeed the teamwork is important for the team members who work on the constructive design. During the continuous collaboration and consultations we divided our tasks and responsibilities between each other to improve our efficiency.
My special duty was to develop the technical solutions and manage the engineering tasks of the doors, the windows, shading devices, and drainage systems. In addition, my responsibility was to edit the Construction Design narrative in the fourth delivery, which has actively worked for our whole team.
3. What do you expect from the future? What are you doing besides the project?
The project is a great opportunity and it helps greatly in my professional and personal development. This competition a special opportunity for the team members while studying at the university. During the profession it will be a huge advantage for us. The future is very uncertain and unpredictable at the moment.
For three years I have been working as a demonstrator at the Department of Building Constructions and supporting and helping the courses of the department. I feel while I am studying at the same time lot more questions are arising and I have chance to find the answers at the university. While I?m studying, I try to learn a lot and develop my knowledge. After the project I want to take degree and start my professional life.
I am working together in this project with my bride, Zsuzsanna Leskó but I try to spend my free time as much as possible together with her. I hope I will spend more time with my friends and my family, because during my studies I spent less time with them.
4. In your opinion, how will we participate in the competition? What do you think, what is the most difficult part of the project?
I find it difficult to predict the results of the project. There is lot of work ahead of us and many decision and factors will influence the outcome of the project. Considering this I feel a lot depends on the decisions of our management. The most difficult task in whole project is the team management and the organization. The team go through a completely new, unbeaten path and the leaders has been work very hard. Despite of our all the difficulties I believe that this project will be realized and it will be a huge success for all of us.
I think personally I can help the most if I try to fulfil my tasks as far as possible. I try to keep in mind that this is teamwork and I try to work as a useful team player.
5. What results and merits have you achieved during your studies, tell me about it.
The early stages of my studies I took part in an architectural workshop in Győr and I went to work on an assessment of historical buildings in Tata. Later, more and more I started to be interested in the technical side of architecture. As I mentioned earlier, I have been working as a demonstrator at the Department of Building Constructions for three years. Now I take part in educational work too. I participated in the project weeks of the department and I visited the exhibition of Glasstech 2010 in Düsseldorf too. I studied one semester at the University of Liechtenstein, and learned a lot about the sustainability. In the autumn 2011 I got the first prize of the Students? Scientific Conference in section of architectural sustainability with Zsuzsanna Leskó together. I completed all the obligatory subjects at the university and I just need to graduate.
